Manual

The nibOS manual

Installing nibOS on the RG DS+, the game shelf, controls, games and saves, the radios, power, updates and what to do when something goes wrong.

This manual is for people who use nibOS on an Anbernic RG DS+: installing it, playing on it, and getting out of trouble. It describes the first alpha, 0.1.0-alpha1.

nibOS comes in two editions, written from the same sources:

  • The DSlot edition starts into DSlot, a game shelf on both screens, with emulators for the DS, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy and Game Boy Color, and through nibcase a dozen more systems. Most of this manual is about it.
  • The base edition starts into a Linux console on the top screen, with a touch keyboard on the bottom one. It is described in The console and the base edition.

What a word means here:

Back, MenuTwo of the DS+’s buttons, named as on the device. In a game, Back opens the game’s menu and Menu saves and goes back to the shelf.

Where you want more detail, this manual links to the projects’ own documentation rather than repeating it.
